Hollywood Smile

Hollywood Smile; is a smile design that is created by using whitening, orthodontics, veneers and coatings together, where medicine and art are applied together, and is special to you.

Planning is done by combining some of your personal wishes with health and naturalness. First, talk to your dentist about your goals and expectations for your new smile. How do you want your smile to look? Why are you not happy with your current smile? You will determine your style by discussing these and perhaps with sample designs that your doctor will show you.

Factors to be used when determining the aesthetic smile expression that suits you

  • Your facial features
  • Your gender
  • Your age
  • Smile symmetry
  • The alignment and colors of your teeth
  • Your lips
  • Your gums

Smile design is first started by determining which geometric shape your facial features fit into. The lines on the person's face contain the codes of which form the teeth should be chosen. Below are certain face shapes and the tooth forms suitable for them:

Male and female anatomy are different from each other. Facial features are sharper and more distinct in men. The forehead, nose and chin tip ratio differ from the female face. In women, the transitions are softer and the bridges of the nose and eyebrows are more indistinct. The same parallelism is present in the teeth.

In women

  • The two teeth in the middle are slightly longer than the teeth on the sides,
  • There are small gaps between the corners of the neighboring teeth.
  • The corners of the teeth turn more softly,
  • The smile line is curved upwards,

In men

  • The neighboring teeth meet in a straighter line,
  • The lines of the teeth are more distinct,
  • The smile line is straighter.

In general, smile expressions are grouped under three main headings. These basic categories also have different variations within themselves:

ATTENTIVE SMILE

In this category, the front teeth are noticeably longer than the side teeth. In fact, this is already the case in young individuals; since the front incisors are the first teeth to erupt, they wear out and become shorter over time. This brings with it an old appearance. In order to have an attractive smile, the front teeth should be longer than the others. This design of the front teeth will give you a young, dynamic and attractive smile. This category is more suitable for young individuals.

SOPHISTICATED SMILE

The teeth are arranged in a horizontal straight line. The intellectual smile gives the face a mature and knowledgeable expression. This smile emphasizes the lower part of the face more. In young ages, when the teeth first erupt, their lengths are different from each other. In middle age, the teeth are of equal length. Thanks to aesthetic dentistry, we can turn this disadvantage into an advantage and design a mature, knowledgeable and intellectual smile.

SPORTY SMILE

It is between Intellectual and Attractive smile. The central incisors are slightly longer than the lateral incisors. The sporty smile design gives your face an extraordinary, sincere and warm expression. This smile is not as serious as an intellectual smile, nor as childish and young as an attractive smile design.

DESIGN CRITERIA

Horizontal Alignment

In an ideal smile, the line that passes through the pupils and the middle of the teeth

Symmetry

Symmetry is very important since the inconsistency in the shape and size of the front incisors is easily noticed. In this respect, providing symmetry to the extent that the facial features allow adds extra charm to the smile.

Smile Line

The curve drawn to connect the incisors of the front teeth should be the same as the curvature of the lower lip. The more harmony is achieved in these lines, the more a person will have a young and attractive smile.

Gum Line

The gum line that is visible when you smile should be parallel to the upper lip line. The gum line is like a frame surrounding a beautiful painting. It adds meaning to your smile.

Smile Width

For an aesthetic smile, the teeth at the back should be visible in certain proportions within the smile line. If this is not achieved, the dark areas at the corners of the mouth do not create a pleasant appearance.

Embrasures

Areas called embrasures are the natural and triangular spaces between the tips of the teeth. For an aesthetic and ideal smile, the dimensions of the embrasures should increase from the front teeth to the back teeth.

Golden Proportions

The width and height of the upper incisors in the visible area should be 1/16 of the width and height of the face, respectively. In addition, there is a ratio between some geometric shapes in nature known as the number phi (?=1.618...). For an aesthetic smile, the teeth should also comply with this rule. For example, the ratio between the widths of the front incisors and the side incisors (1.618/1=1.618... = phi number), the ratio between the widths of the canines and the side incisors (0.618/1 = 0.618, which is equal to the result obtained by dividing the phi number by one, or the number obtained by subtracting 1 from the phi number. 1/phi = phi-1)

Tooth Ratio

The ratios of the widths of the front two teeth to their heights should again comply with the golden ratio, that is, 0.618/1 = 0.618, which is equal to the result obtained by dividing 1 by the phi number. The visible length of the tooth should always be greater than its width.

Shadows on Teeth

  • Neck Area: Even in the brightest and whitest smiles, it is more yellow than the other parts.
  • Middle Area: Less yellow or in primary white color.
  • Incisor Area: Transparent to varying degrees and gray in appearance.
