Today, thanks to scientific and technological advances in dentistry, the primary goal is to treat and preserve teeth. However, in some cases, tooth extraction is necessary to protect the patient's health or for treatment planning purposes. These cases can be summarized as follows:
Indications
- Teeth that cannot be saved by treatment due to advanced decay and loss of substance.
- Teeth broken as a result of an impact, which cannot be treated.
- Teeth with abscesses that cannot be saved despite root canal treatment.
- Loose teeth due to advanced gum disease.
- Baby teeth that do not fall out on time.
- Teeth that cause problems due to excessive position changes (rotation, tilting, etc.).
- Teeth inside a cyst or tumor.
- Teeth that have not fully erupted (impacted) and cause problems.
- Due to lack of space, some teeth may be extracted to assist with orthodontic treatment, even if they are healthy.
