As the name suggests, wisdom teeth usually emerge between the ages of 18 and 25, years after the other teeth in the mouth have emerged. Sometimes, they can remain impacted for a lifetime. As they try to emerge from time to time, they manifest themselves with pain, especially in the lower jaw. Since the jaw has finished developing, wisdom teeth that cannot find a place to emerge can apply pressure to the teeth in front of them, and can even cause slight crowding. Redness, swelling and pain in the mucosa of the relevant area, and in some cases, limitation of mouth opening may be observed.
